Big Children Eat Alot.

Hello All
Well after having become used to Number one child  (he is a big child now so will now be referred to as Patrick) being away in Bordeaux and the weekly shop lasting for 2 or 3 weeks, he has been at home for 2 weeks waiting for his exam results and I am shopping twice a week and having to cook all the time. Isn't it handy having a butchery;-)
Now don't get me wrong I am not really complaining, in fact his timing could not have been better as Number 3 child has been exceedingly unwell this last week with proper flu so instead of being able to help Gavin move sheep around to try and find somewhere drier for them to stand, I have had to nursemaid all week.
Poor little thing had a temperature of 40 for 3 days whilst being dosed with both paracetomol and ibuprofen and also had to be sponged down as the medicine was not being terribly effective. 8 days later I think we are ready to go back to school.
Now when you get out and about as much as I do, what to do with 8 days of being stuck at home.... trying to avoid finishing the accounts and office work. We now have a clean oven and kitchen cupboards. I wonder who else would have gone for that route as well?
The butchery has also had a facelift and is the most beautiful shade of blue. After the stark white it was, it is a nice change.
Gavin has to revisit the specialist in Libourne as it appears his torn tendon may not have healed properly so I wait with baited breath to see if he will have to have an operation.
The early lambs are arriving steadily and are all cosy inside various barns and shelters around the place.
Some nasty person decided to help themselves to one of our electric energisers for the electric fence the other Sunday which was a bit of a blot on the landscape. So we are 158 euros worse off this week. It is very annoying. Ho Hum, onward and upward.
See you all around and about. Sunny on Friday, so they say I am looking forward to it, looking on the bright side at least the days are getting longer which means Spring is getting closer.

Hello All
Well I do apologise for my recent silence on the web, or maybe it is actually a relief for you all.
I have been in England for 10 days helping my Aunt with arrangements for my Grandmothers funeral and sorting her house out. She drifted off in the middle of afternoon tea in relative comfort. It is nearly all organised now and Grandma (who was 91) is happily where she has wanted to be for about the last 2 months.
My husband has been holding the fort which has been interesting as both the girls have been unwell, However the last order for things to bring back included chocolate as well as the obligatory tea, so I think that things must be improving.
I believe I have missed the first lambs for 2014 but on my return I will include a photo so you can all to go aaahhhh.
Watch this space and I will be informing you soon when I will be back at the markets.
See you soon
Helen
