A Holiday?

Well Hello There Everyone
I apologise for my absence last week but answers on a post card about where we were.

We returned last Thursday and I can honestly say we were exhausted. There are few things in life that can cause self inflicted excrutiating pain in ones feet but concrete and tarmac are certainly in that group. What is even more bizarre is that after one has the initial impact damage one continues to pound the pavements in an effort to see as much as possible in 3 days. We were very lucky with the weather and even managed to visit the delights of the Plastic Pink Palace on the outskirts of The big smoke much to the girls delight.
Now I did note that my picture of an Aircar on my last post did not go down well with you folks so I have provided the delights of a fluffy cat at the beginning of the blog to appease all you lovely people. Well ok not the cutest picture you have seen in your life it must have appealed to my more wicked side, but I bet you laughed at its joyful expression.
Gavin, whilst I was away, was joined by a young, healthy, strong, friend from Zimbabwe who helped him keep up with the mountain of sheep work at the moment made worse by the fact that it rained all the time whilst I was away. Unfortunately he will not be staying but will be heading across the water to work for money.
The lambs are still arriving just at a less rapid rate than before, sadly I leave the boys alone for a week and they neglected to take any photos for you all to appreciate so you will have to be patient until next week as I have been busy in the slightly less attractive, cute and fluffy environment, the butchery. In fact if the sun holds on like it is promising there may even been lambs in fields pictures that would be fun. The markets are starting to get a slightly more springlike feel about them as people are venturing out with the slight rise in temperature, there are even some new faces appearing on the scene. I opened the window yesterday as the house was too warm, I should have turned the heating off you say, and yes I would have done if relighting the 2 stoves did not take so much time.
I think we are finally getting back into the swing of the new year and markets again it has only taken me a month. Lots of plans for the year ahead.
See you all soon
Helen
