Where did the time go?

Hello All
It is approaching midnight on Wednesday night I wonder, where has my week gone and oh no "Bloggers Block" has arrived once again. Ok, don't stress it will come to you, and bizarrely it arrives as I am once again removing the piles of clean, folded clothing that are strewn over the bed blocking my passage to blissful sleep. Laundry has been fun this week dodging  between the sunny blue sky, black rainy clouds, strong chilly wind, and if you are very lucky warm airy bits when everything falls still and you find a sheltered corner out of the rigors of the May weather. Rigorous weather in May? The year seems to be zooming past and my calendar filling up fast with the usual end of year school plays, music evenings and ballet performances. Not to mention the up and coming "So British" summer market at Brantôme and the busier weekly markets that the summer season brings. So roll on 35 degreees and hot, roasty-toasty days. You will undoubtedly arrive in the wink of an eye:-) and then as usual we will all be moaning that it is too hot.

Last weekend heralded my first year anniversary at Sainte Foy La Grande and what a way to celebrate by selling out. In the words of a fellow stall holder I obviously did not make enough then, and how correct he would be. Thank you to all my loyal supporters on Saturday mornings we couldn't do it without you. In fact thinking about it we must be approaching an anniversary for Ribérac market. I must go and look up how many years.......... just as I thought 3 years in June.
This week has been a particularly busy one with Gavin dashing about moving mummies and babies onto new pasture and trying to squeeze in a bit of time working on our barn not to mention price comparing on building materials and then trying to find the time to go and buy everything. French residents beware Brico Depot is not always the cheapest. I managed to find a bit of time this week to help out with some insulating which meant measuring and cutting the insulation to fit in between the timber framework. Wow, if anyone needs an instant workout get a ladder and do some sawing squatting on the floor. If you then add a pilates class on top you may never move again, be warned.
Every other spare moment has been spent in the butchery this week preparing for a big order next week and we seem to have eaten a lot of pork leftovers in our house. We had Italian sausage and cumberland meatballs in a rich tomato sauce with mashed potatoes and fine beans, and another day was pork fillet and smoked paprika casserole with a dash of cream and basmati rice......I think we probably get quite posh leftovers in our house. Nature of the business I guess :-) Yum. I would have taken a picture but the big people ate too quickly and Number 3's plate looked like a cement mixer had been through it.
We have a visitor arriving in a couple of weeks, a friend from Zimbabwe who I have not seen for maybe 12 years or more,  although it feels like only yesterday when we sat around a table at their farm having the most delicious Borscht. Lots of gossiping and catching up to do in the very near future.
See you all soon
Helen
